Noam Koenigstein  I lead the Deep Learning Technologies and Applications (DELTA) at the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University. My main research interest is novel machine learning algorithms for real-world applications. Specifically, I am focused on three main areas:

Recommender Systems
My original research area is Collaborative Filtering algorithms for recommender systems. I began this line of research during my when I was an intern at Yahoo! Research and worked with Dr. Yehuda Koren organizing KDD Cup 2011. Later, I joined Microsoft and started a research team who developed the recommendation algorithms for Xbox, and Windows Store. I also serve as a senior program committee in RecSys.

Economic Forecasting
After Microsoft, I joined Citi Innovation Lab in Tel Aviv, where I served as Head of Data Science. During this role, I started researching machine learning applications for economic predictions. I continued this line of work at Tel Aviv University, where I collaborate with the Bank of Israel on developing machine learning algorithm for nowcasting CPI inflation.

Machine Learning for Agricultural Application
We all need to eat, and agriculture is the origin of everything we put in our mouths. I collaborate with Israel’s Volcani Agricultural Research Organization on multiple projects invovling machine learning applications for agriculture.
